Choosing American mahjong tiles involves more than finding a favorite color. The right purchase should match the way you play, the accessories you already own and the details you enjoy seeing on your table. This guide explains what to check before ordering, with examples from the MAHORA collection.
Start with the game you intend to play
Read the product description and inspect the tile faces before deciding. A design name describes the artwork; it does not establish compatibility with a particular rules card, club or style of play. If you are buying for a group, ask your teacher or playing partners what tile selection and accessories they expect.
For example, MAHORA's Hong Kong-Style collection refers to the visual styling of an American Mahjong set. Check the product photos and tile selection rather than choosing on the name alone.
Look at the faces, backs and edges
Give each side a separate look. On the faces, compare the illustrations, numbers and lettering with what you find comfortable to recognize. On the backs, decide whether you prefer a bold pattern or a softer finish. Side views show details that may be less obvious in a front-facing photograph.
- Leopard Print combines expressive leopard-pattern backs with illustrated white faces and gold-toned accents.
- Pink Rose pairs floral faces with translucent pink backs and pink, green and white edge bands.
- 7-Layer Hong Kong-Style features colorful striped edges, traditional visual references and engraved, hand-painted details.
Colors can look different under different lighting and on different screens. Use several product photographs, including close-ups, to judge the design.
Compare actual dimensions
Do not assume all sets have the same tile size. MAHORA Leopard Print and Pink Rose tiles measure 31.5 × 23 × 16 mm; the 7-Layer Hong Kong-Style tiles measure 38 × 26 × 17.8 mm. Check those measurements against any racks and storage you plan to use. We have not established compatibility with every accessory brand.

Check the material and what is included
Leopard Print and Pink Rose use four-layer acrylic. The Hong Kong-Style set uses premium seven-layer acrylic. Layer count describes the construction; it does not, on its own, tell you which design you will prefer.
Each of these sets includes 160 mahjong tiles only. Racks, pushers, dice, a wind indicator, a carrying case and a playing or rules card are not included. Review the tile photographs and description if you need to check particular tile types.

MAHORA currently accepts online orders for the United States. US orders of $99 or more ship free from China, with estimated transit of 5–15 business days after dispatch. MAHORA covers US import duties. Review the shipping policy and return policy for the current terms.
