Original design & hand-painted craftsmanship
Wukong Huali Wood brings the warmth of wood grain to an illustrated world inspired by Chinese mythology. Ivory-colored playing faces and expressive red, green, blue and gold-toned artwork create a distinctly different mood from the acrylic collections.
Each decorated face is engraved, then filled with paint by hand. Recessed outlines give the artwork definition and depth, while hand-applied color brings out small contrasting details. Slight variations in paint filling are part of the hand-finished character of MAHORA’s original designs.
Natural wood & contrasting faces
Natural brown Huali wood forms the visible backs and edges around the lighter playing faces. Grain and tone can vary between tiles and sets, giving the reverse its individual character. There is no acrylic layer or printed shell-effect back: the quieter wood texture is an intentional contrast to the colorful face illustrations.
Artwork across the set
Pink-red peaches and green leaves reinterpret the Dot designs; red staffs with golden accents introduce the Bams, with an elaborate bird on the opening tile. Chinese numerals and ornamental vessel-like forms decorate the Craks. Myth-inspired character portraits distinguish the winds and Jokers, while lotus-like flowers and stylized creatures continue the story.
The design combines detailed, hand-colored engraving with the material’s natural visual warmth. The broader face and slim profile give the illustrations space, while the surrounding brown frame connects every tile into a coordinated set. Choose it for a mythology-inspired collection, a wood-accented game table or a distinctive gift.
